The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Soldiers Group
Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring divine entities, fiends, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the primary party to begin their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the party understands precisely where to head next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, north of the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their status as key figures in House Halovar could help the team access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This means them little choice but to head to Timmony in quest for Casimir.
What’s Next?
From episode three’s follow-up content, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the players to round up the Seekers and Schemers groups.
Fans can expect learning which characters will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, available to watch on October 24.
