In a bizarre partnership that challenges usual forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Questline Uncovered

According to the formal statement, "An unusual encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where whispers of banned ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses resonate through the obscurity." The plot presents a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine group.

The mission focuses on "strange tests and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Metamorphoses

The trailer showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a striking sequence showing a character, likely the captive, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Extra Features

Players who successfully complete the mission will acquire an exclusive katana alongside multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Special implements
• Survey Corps vehicle

Third Free Story Addition

This release also adds the game's latest free story episode, titled "The Enigma." This playful adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive skills: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also features a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
